When you think of the band Puscifer, many thoughts probably come to mind. Melodic, unique, imaginative compositions and visuals, you probably also think of Maynard James Keenan and some may have Carina Round pop into their thoughts. Mat Mitchell is the other key and core member who is the unsung hero of Puscifer. He begins the process of creating the background soundscapes for the other two to start playing off of and reinventing. It is a collaborative effort, but Mitchell is the ignition to start the machine.
Puscifer is difficult to categorize due to its exotic musical elements. One thing you can always trust with this band, what they put out into the world will be worth experiencing. The listening journey is one thing, but the visual adventure is quite another. While the world was swept up in virtual shows in 2020 and 2021, before the world opened back up, Puscifer was one band who really nailed the project. They understood the assignment and perfected it with their live rendition of Existential Reckoning. (Check out my review of that album on that link). Since they are masters of theatrical performances, they decided to treat the fans to a double feature virtual show, which will take place from October 28th, 2022 thru November 1st, 2022. This double feature includes newer versions of V is for Viagra cleverly renamed V is for Versatile and Conditions of my Parole brilliantly renamed Parole Violator. There are some guest appearances and characters you may already know and be ready for. You can find the tickets and extras through their website https://puscifertv.com/.
Metal Nation had the ultimate pleasure to talk to Mat about this show as well as Puscifer. If you are viewing from your phone, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click “View Desktop Version” to see interview and videos.
