Gothic metal is not a genre I am well-versed in, but there are a few bands within this category that have continually made me want to immediately listen to what they are releasing, and Moonspell is one of those bands. There is something about the atmospheric compositions along with vocalist Fernando Ribeiro‘s vocal style that keeps me wanting more. Far From God is another incredible album added to their discography, and it will be coming out on July 3rd, 2026.
Moonspell began in 1989 in Portugal. Members Fernando Ribeiro (vocalist), Ricard Amorim (guitar), Pedro Paixão (keys), Aires Pereira (bass), and Hugo Ribeiro (drums) are the musicians behind the breathtaking music. Far From God brings some strong emotional feelings of love, sorrow, loss, and everything that goes along with the epic tales of vampires and werewolves. It is an incredible journey with some memorable moments, including the tracks “The Great Wolf in the Sky” and “Our Freedom to Fall”. Fernando’s haunting vocal style with the moody ambiance of compositions and heart make this release an instant victory. I highly encourage fans of Moonspell and any other music lover who wants to take a thrilling ride to jump on listening to this much-anticipated release. It is worth every minute!
Fernando was kind enough to sit down with Metal Nation once again and discuss this upcoming release.
