Melodic metal is two of my favorite words. I am going to most likely enjoy most genres mixed into those two words. Rising Insane is a melodic metal band mixed with some strong emotions. Check. They just released their fourth full-length album titled, Wildfires, on August 23rd, 2024 through Long Branch Records. It is an album full of many shifts and genre mixing and has a lot of emotional lyrical elements. Wildfires is a roller coaster of sounds and emotions, and is definitely one to check out.
Rising Insane started to reach the ears of listeners in 2017 in Northern Germany when they self-released their first album, Nation. After this, they were signed to Long Branch Records and released their second album, “Porcelain” in 2019. In 2021, “Afterglow” came out. Aaron Steineker (vocals), Sven Polizuk (guitar), Ulf Hedenkamp (bass), Florian Kochy (guitar), and Robert Kuhling (drums), are the musicians behind the music. They have created something really beautiful in Wildfires with mental health-related topics and musical composition. “The Door” has become one of my favorite tracks on first and tenth listen. Steineker’s raw vocal style really hits the heartstrings. I also really enjoy “Malicious” due to the harsh vocals and heavy riffs. “Wildfires” is a beautiful journey as well, and it has increasingly moved up on a favorite overall.
Vocalist Aaron was kind enough to sit down with Metal Nation to discuss this recent release and mental health related topics. (To view interview and videos, please scroll to the bottom of the page and click “View Desktop Version” to gain access).
