BLACK MARROW Interview: Putting Chinks in the Armor
In Boise there is an incredible metal scene with some insanely talented musicians. The support from band to band has created a giant metal family full of, “You guys killed it up there” and, “I am a big fan of what you guys are doing”, with every positive thing in between. If someone dares to say anything negative, there is a quick interruption to correct the attitude. I have loved being a small part of this community and have a strong love for all my metal brothers and sisters. Black Marrow is newer as a whole, but filled with some of the best musicians Boise has to offer.
Dave Ford (vocals, guitar) has been a part of this scene as long as I can remember. His former band Ripchain was one of the pavers for the community. Jeff Fultz (guitar) has a history of teaming up with Jesse Leach (Killswitch Engage) in the band Seemless. He had to opportunity to record and tour with this group. He also happens to be in many projects in Boise due to his love of live performances. Tyler Johnson (drums) and Ford have teamed up before in the band Unto Extinction, and continue to be a powerhouse with Black Marrow. Hunter Lane is the newer guy to the scene, but don’t let that fool you, he is a beast on the bass.
The guys sat down with Metal Nation to talk about what they are up to. (If you are viewing from your phone, scroll to the bottom of the page and click “View Desktop Version” to get interview video access).
