It is always fun to find new music that is appealing to dive into, and Without Mercy has been that for me. From the first note and all the way through the three-song EP titled Infinite Mercy, I was hooked. The insatiable heaviness mixed with harsh vocals, melody shifts, and aggressiveness is a recipe that I can sink my teeth into. I immediately wanted to hear more and quickly dove into songs outside of these three. I was not disappointed, and they have rung up the ladder to a new favorite. As Ash Williams says, “groovy” and “brutal”.
Without Mercy began in 2007 out of Canada and consists of members: Alex Friis (vocals), DJ Temple (guitar), Ryan Loewen (bass), Matt Helie (drums). Infinite Mercy is an incredible short journey that must get to the ears of more of the metal fanbase. The musicianship is outstanding, and the compositions are exceptional. The groovy and chugging riffs with melodic parts mixed with heavy mood-altering soundscapes create balance within the force of metal.
DJ was kind enough to sit down with Metal Nation to discuss this release as well as other things.
