Make sure you have done your stretches and warm your neck up before this next album. Thy Will Be Done is back, and this release is heavy metal intensity at its best. Pillar of Fire, out September 13th, 2024 through Eye On Lion Recording, does not give you a break from its intensity all throughout the entirety of the album. Not only is it energetic, but it is also wise lyrically. J Costa discusses some important topics you will want to be sure to pay attention to.

Originally, starting in 2005 out of Rhode Island, Thy Will Be Done began their adventure with original member J Costa (vocals). Over the years, some changes were made with the most recent members being: Chris Robinson (lead guitar), Kurt Fraunfelter (rhythm guitar), Jay Waterman (drums), and Eric Tavares (bass). These are the musicians behind this aggressive and incredible album that comes after a 15-year gap from their last release, In Ancient of Days, in 2009. The melodic soundscapes with the heavy riffs and harsh vocals, mixed with breaths of slower guitar melodies, (end of “An Eternal Light”), and insane drumbeats, are sure to make this release a quick favorite.

Make sure you take a deep breath, get some water, again, do more stretches, and click play to experience some mighty metal. “Prelude of Apostasy” begins with all-out, in-your-face, vocals and fast-paced drumming. The chorus is catchy along with a riff that shifts, but is memorable. It ends with, “Eye, The Ascension”, which continues that intensity, you simply don’t get a break with this album, but it still reflects some melodic instrumentation that keeps you wanting to continue listening. So go ahead and start from the beginning all over again.

J Costa was kind enough to sit down with Metal Nation and discuss this release, among many other important topics. (If you are viewing from your phone, please scroll to the end of the screen and click on “View Desktop Version” to gain interview and video access).
