THE BARBARIANS OF CALIFORNIA Interview: We Care A Lot

One of my favorite things about running Metal Nation is the plethora of music I get sent daily. It has expanded my musical tastes and introduced me to new favorites I otherwise might not have found. The Barbarians of California is one of those bands that I automatically became a huge fan of and was able to add to a list of favorites. These days, there is so much great music out there. It is exciting to find ones that hit you so directly, you want to listen over and over again. The Barbarians of California are releasing their second album, titled MEGATONS, on August 21st, 2026, and man, is it fanfuckingtastic.

The band released their debut album in 2024, titled And Now I’m Just Gnashing My Teeth, and it was a brilliant beginning to a super fun and creative project from seasoned musicians. The band is led by Aaron Bruno of AWOLNATION on vocals, with Linden Reed on drums and Zach Irons on guitar from the same band. Eric Stenman is a producer who is playing guitar, and David Amezcua is on bass. Not only is the music innovative and entertaining, but they also have humorous videos that add to the quirkiness of the project.

Stenman was kind enough to sit down with Metal Nation and discuss all things BoC.
