Some musicians are of legendary status due to the hard work they put in, and some are so unique that they are always remembered. Gene Hoglan happens to be both. The Dark Angel drummer has played alongside bands and musicians such as Devin Townsend, Strapping Young Lad, Testament, Dethklok, Death, and Fear Factory, along with many others. He has been labeled as an inspiration for many drummers and continually travels extensively, working hard to maintain the lifestyle he is clearly fit for.
Gene Hoglan is originally from Dallas, Texas. He began his journey at 13 in the music community and never looked back. He has talked about the difference between musicians who are lifers and those who struggle with the chaotic lifestyle. Hoglan has filled in for many bands throughout the years, sometimes with only hours before showtime, and somehow can pull these events off, over and over again. He is a magician with his craft.
