For my family and I, our flight with Frontier Airlines Detroit Terminal through Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) was surprisingly easy and uncomplicated. Budget airlines typically have strict schedules and few extras, so we didn't have high expectations, but everything went smoothly as soon as we got to the terminal. Despite Frontier's minimalist business model, the self-service kiosks were simple to use, the check-in area was well marked, and staff members were on hand to assist when necessary. I was impressed by how quick and easy the entire process was, even with children in tow. We were able to pass security without feeling hurried and even found a peaceful spot to unwind before boarding. The terminal itself had lots of seating and easily accessible amenities, and it was tidy, well-organized, and family-friendly.
