TEXAS HIPPIE COALITION Interview: Big Dad Ritch and Sasquatch’s Child

They say everything is bigger in Texas. Does that mean the Sasquatches are even bigger there than everywhere else? I have never pondered this in an interview before, but I haven’t had the chance to interview Big Dad Ritch of Texas Hippie Coalition either. I have known of THC for decades, and always thoroughly enjoyed the music. On September 11th, 2026, they released two albums back-to-back. One is titled Stoned Cowboys, and it is more of a country-style album. The second is Band of Outlaws, which is more southern rock-metal. Both are fantastic and beautifully Texas Hippie Coalition.

THC is straight out of, you guessed it, Texas. Denison, Texas, to be exact. They began their journey in 2004 with Big Dad Ritch driving the musical bus as the vocalist. Over time, the lineup has changed, but the music has stayed consistent. Big Dad Ritch sat down with Metal Nation to discuss these albums, the THC journey, and some unexpected topics. Sounds like this won’t be the last time Metal Nation will hear from him.
