Symphonic metal has continually come a long way and has become very diverse within the genre. Elvellon is one of the newer bands, but they are also one of the best. They have heavier riffs that set them apart with the melodic soundscapes. Ascending in Synergy is their second full-length album, and it was released on May 17th, 2024 through Napalm Records. This is following their debut full-length album, Until Dawn which was released in 2018.

Elvellon is a German band with members: Nele Messerschmidt (vocals), Gilbert Gelsdorf (guitars), Martin Kluners (drums), Pascal Pannen (keyboards), and Jan Runkel (bass), who are the creators of this beautiful music. They have played in many festivals and continued to rise in views on YouTube and rise of listeners on Spotify. Ascending in Energy has ten tracks that take you on a journey of music and feelings, from an “Ocean of Treason”, to “The Aeon Tree” and “Into the Void”. Hey! I was able to make a sentence out of their songs, that is how cohesive this album is. Nele’s vocals are strong and vibrant, Gilbert’s mighty riffs bring the music that much more compelling. Pannen adds extra passion and Runkel and Kluners boost the songs to be just what they need to be to bring it fully to life.

Nele and Gilbert were kind enough to sit down with Metal Nation and discuss this release. (If you are viewing from your phone, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “View Desktop Version” to gain interview and video access).
