There is so much amazing music out there and it sometimes feels impossible to even begin to keep up with it all, it also is difficult to be thoroughly impressed anymore as well due to the over-saturation, but every once in a while a band pops up that renews that excitement, and Beneath the Hollow has been that for me. While they are far from a new band, they have reunited, added a new vocalist, with some incredible recordings through Razor to Wrist Records. This mix of events brought them to another level, which is impressive in every way. They will be releasing their newest EP Heads & Hooves out June 19th, 2025.
Beneath the Hollow began putting music out in 2018. Matt DeGroot (drums), Dan Pacheco (bass), and Jesse James (guitar) reunited in 2021 and added new vocalist Justin Travis Osburn (Celebrity Sex Scandal). Heads & Hooves also features the insanely talented Chaney Crabb of Entheos on track, “4 Dimensional Regret”. It is a beautiful mixture of two highly regarded vocalists with some melodic. haunting moments, and heavy moments. The kind of composition that really keeps you engaged. This EP will have six tracks, every track as good as the one before. They are a new favorite, and I highly encourage you all to check them out.
Justin was nice enough to sit down with Metal Nation and discuss his joining the band, what they are doing moving forward, among many other topics. (If you are viewing from your phone, please scroll to the end of the page and click “View Desktop Version” to gain video and interview access).
