Los Angeles, CA (October 15, 2024) – Verona on Venus has announced its band lineup and the release of their new single and music video, “Pretty.” Joining Mike Spreitzer (vocals) are four powerhouse musicians: Neal Tiemann on guitar, Austin D’Amond on drums, Lucas Kanopa on guitar, and Ovo on bass bringing fresh energy and creativity to the band’s writing and sound.
“The song finalizes the first chapter of Verona on Venus. Now that I have a full band, my focus will solely be on playing live”, says Spreitzer. “I have a long history with Neal Tiemann and Austin D’Amond. Our chemistry as musicians and friends is something I could never lay to rest. Lucas Kanopa and I have known each other for many years and he was at the top of my list as a potential guitarist for VoV. His skill level is above and beyond my expectations. “Pretty,” showcases Spreitzer’s signature blend of melodic metal with raw, emotional intensity. Accompanied by a visually striking music video, the single delves into themes of chaos, nostalgia, and the darker sides of Spreitzer’s identity while also introducing Tiemann, D’Amond, Kanopa, and Ovo.
“’Pretty” is a dark love song about a hypothetical scenario where a couple, captivated by one another, abandon their faith in humanity, witness the demise of civilization, and live happily as the last two people on Earth,” says Spreitzer. “The idea was inspired by an experiment called Universe 25 where rats were used to compare their behavior in high-density environments versus low-density environments. The rats demonstrated how excessive overcrowding could lead to social breakdown, aggression, and population decline. This process is known as a “behavioral sink.””
“Pretty” will be available on all major streaming platforms on Tuesday, October 15th, 2024 with the music video premiering on YouTube on the same day. This release marks the beginning of a provocative new phase for Verona on Venus, with more music and live performances on the horizon.
