THE VINTAGE CARAVAN Interview: Oskar And His Paranormal Experiences

0

The Vintage Caravan has quickly become one of my favorite bands for the past few years, and I have been eagerly awaiting this release, Portals, which officially comes out on September 26th, 2025, through Napalm Records. This groovy 70’s style band brings so much to the table with this new album, including a track with Mikael Akerfeldt the vocalist of the extraordinary Opeth. The last The Vintage Caravan album, Monuments, was, pardon the pun, monumental, but Portals is a big contender.

The Vintage Caravan is a three-piece band from Iceland, comprising Oskar Logi Agustsson (vocalist, guitar, flute), Alexander Orn Numason (bass, backing vocals, synths, Farfisa), and Stefan Ari Stefansson (drums, backing vocals, percussion). This trio creates wizardy with their compositions. They are catchy, entertaining, and insanely talented. The most intriguing part of this album is the portals tracks that feel like they are transporting you from moment to moment. I found this to be a very creative way to navigate this album. I always really enjoy Oskar’s guitar solos, but this album has some dynamic bass and drums as well that embellish the sound to another degree.

“My Aurora” brings a soulful and emotional experience in the midst of the rock and roll tracks. “Current” also takes you on an emotional journey as Oskar taps into someone else’s story and relays it beautifully. He discusses this experience in the interview. The whole album is a brilliant encounter with some very special musicians who put their heart and soul into their music. It is a must-listen to band and album.

Oskar was kind enough to sit down with Metal Nation and discuss this album and many other topics we ventured down. (If you are viewing from your phone, please scroll to the end of the page and click “View Desktop Version” to gain interview and video access).
