Many metal bands have been around for decades, all through different sub-genres. Exhumed began in 1990 and was a force right from the beginning. This death metal powerhouse has continued to slash through the metal scene with visual and lyrical revulsion in the best way. The new album release by Relapse Records, Red Asphalt, which was out on February 20th, 2026, is another gory banger.
Exhumed is out of San Jose, California, with members: Matt Harvey (vocals, guitar), Ross Sewage (vocals, bass), Mike Hamilton (drums), and Sebastian Philips (guitar) behind the music. Red Asphalt is geared towards accidents involving vehicles or on the road type themes. The videos create an even more gruesome imagery of this theme and are revolting to watch, but so much fun.
