Way back in the 1900’s, a band named Arch Enemy entered the world and everyone’s heart. This legendary band is now celebrating 30 years of music with their release, Blood Dynasty, the 12th studio album to date on March 28th, 2025. I could not think of a better way not only to celebrate, but continue to show how brilliant of musicians they are, as well as continuing to throw a few surprises around. If you have yet to jump into the Arch Enemy ring, I highly encourage you to with this release.
Arch Enemy began in 1995. They have had some member changes throughout the years, but have maintained a consistent sound and dedication. Michael Amott (guitar), began this dream team of a project and has continued adding some of the best musicians along the way, including current members: Joey Concepcion (guitar), Daniel Erlandsson (Drums), Sharlee D’Angelo (bass), and Alissa White-Gluz (vocals). This five-piece has really outdone themselves with this new release, Blood Dynasty.
This album is full of aggression, and a spot here and there with White-Gluz presenting some clean vocals, most notably in the “Vivre Libre” cover, where she only does cleans. It is a beautiful song and she nails it. My favorites have been, “A Million Suns”, with catchy riffs, fast drum beats, memorable guitar melodies, and brutal harsh vocals. There is a breathtaking guitar piece in this one that really makes my heart soar. “The Pendulum” is another favorite with some haunting soundscapes in the background and epic musicianship all around. These are some of the best musicians metal has to offer, and hearing them all together is magical.
Blood Dynasty doesn’t have a bad track. Every single one of them is full of life, an incredible journey of melodies, heaviness, and heart. This absolutely will be making my top albums of 2025.
