GATTA MORTA Interview: JD Pinkus and the Taco Tuesday Jam

One of the best things about interviewing musicians is the opportunity to talk with people I deeply respect. There are people out there who are incredibly talented in many ways, but are also good humans off the stage. JD Pinkus is one of those humans I have been ultimately impressed with all around. He is not only a fun, good guy, but also insanely talented. He has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry. From his teenage years with Butthole Surfers, to his time with The Melvins, to his new adventure with the supergroup Gatta Morta, he continues to perform at a tremendous level.

JD Pinkus is also a stellar solo artist who uses loop effects, his banjo, and humor to entertain you through his sets. He brings a genuine, raw approach to his stage performances that demands your attention and keeps you invested, as if you’re part of the show. His personality really shines through on stage and on social media. Teaming up with Buzz Osborne (The Melvins), Cody Willis (The Melvins, Big Business), and Clinton Jacob (Mr. Phylzzz) for Gatta Morta has created a dynamic group that is selling out merch left and right. I encourage you to check them out and throw your hat in the ring to try to get your hands on a shirt, vinyl, CD, etc. They are in high demand and going fast with every release!

Pinkus was kind enough to sit down with Metal Nation and chat about a lot of topics.
