EXIT EDEN Interview: Marina Breaks Down the Sophomore Album

Women and metal have been making some incredible and significant music for many years now and it continues to head in the right direction. When Exit Eden first appeared in 2017 with their covers of mostly pop songs on their debut album, Rhapsodies in Black, there was a big response and people eagerly wanted more. Bringing together singers from other bands, this super group decided to bring the people what they wanted and create another album, Femmes Fatales, which was released on January 12th, 2024 through Napalm Records.

On the debut album, the members included; Amanda Sommerville (Alice Cooper, Epica, Avantasia), Clementine Delauney (Visions of Atlantis), Marina La Torraca (Phantom Elite), and Anna Brunner (League of Distortion). After this, Amanda decided to focus more on her family but urged the other three to continue with this project. Thankfully they agreed and here we are with Femmes Fatales! Not only did they do more covers of some incredible songs, but they have also created some of their own. They are showing the full diversity of what they are capable of as a group. Exit Eden was also able to get Marko Hietala (Nightwish) to not only sing on a track but also be a part of their video.

Marina was kind enough to sit down with Metal Nation and discuss this process and work with Marko Hietala (Nightwish). (If you are viewing from your phone, scroll to the bottom of the page and click “View Desktop Version” to gain video and interview access).
