CONCERT REVIEW: KILLSWITCH ENGAGE Sells Out The Revolution

The Revolution Concert House in Garden City has been bringing many metal favorites over the years to the fans of this genre and showing how big of a crowd they can gather at any given night. March 17th, 2025 was one of those nights with a sold out show. Killswitch Engage headlined an insane lineup with Frozen Soul, Fit For a King, and Kublai Khan TX joining them. Every single band brought it on a very memorable night.

Frozen Soul opened the evening with a stage ambiance of long stakes through skeleton bodies as a visual before they took the stage. Vocalist Chad Green was very engaging, making sure the crowd was hyped working the pit. He also sang a “push up” song, where a guy in the crowd took it upon himself to quite literally start doing some pushups in the pit. It was a highly entertaining portion of the night. Green also took an important minute to discuss the importance of mental health and his loss of his brother. It was a roller coaster of a first band of the night, in the best way. They brought the heavy in a death metal fashion that heaved the doors off the hinges.

Second was Fit For a King. I didn’t know what to expect of this band, and I was beyond pleasantly surprised. The guitar players were captivating the whole way through as vocalist Ryan Kirby floored the crowd with his impressive, aggressive and clean vocals that soared through the venue with ferocity and beauty. Bass player Ryan O’Leary spun his bass completely around his body like a pro without missing a beat. I held my breath every time, but he mastered it and it was quite a sight to see. They were full of intense energy and a band I was thankful to have caught. “End (The Otherside), “When Everything Means Nothing” and “Reaper” were blasting through our earholes as the band performedthe music with high intensity. I will not hesitate to see them again.

Kublai Khan TX jumped in next. My son had been waiting to see these guys for a while, and was stoked to finally see it happen. He was far from the only one, the crowd went up a whole other level as vocalist Matt Honecutt barked and marched around the stage with brutality. The energy level was noticeable as everyone became extra sweaty and enthusiastic, chanting along to the songs. It was like the room all become one entity. Kublai Khan basically made the venue its captives as they annihilated the stage. “Theory of the Mind” and “Darwinism” were a collective effort between band and crowd. I cannot wait to see this band again.

Headlining the night was the very beloved Killswitch Engage. Killswitch did what they always do, brought peace to everyone’s world, even for just a night. The positive energy they bleed is always apparent and remarkable. I have never left a Killswitch show feeling down, they just have a presence that makes you feel like everything is going to be ok. Vocalist Jesse Leach did what he does best, and brought that positivity to an extra level with his hopeful messages in between songs, When you add in guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz‘s humor and facial expressions, it is highly entertaining. “Beyond the Flames” was one of the more memorable songs of the night as Leach belted out the emotional lyrics. Everyone joined in for many songs and somehow all sounded as if they had all practiced and perfected their pitch and volume. “This Curse”, “My Last Serenade”, “The End of Heartache”, “In Due Time”, many fan favorites, were sang out with love and affection to the lyrics and the band. They are one I will never miss, and if you have not seen them, I highly encourage you to.
