It is really amazing to interview a band that has made a big impression on me through a live performance as my introduction to them. AXTY was this band. I saw them on The Browning and Born of Osiris tour, and my friend and I were blown away. Vocalist Felipe Hervoso has an insane range, and they all owned the stage with high energy and engrossing entertainment. Guitar player Jonathas Peschiera had a little swagger to him as he played through the songs. Drummer Gabriel Vacari maintained quick, in-the-pocket beats. It was one of the best all-around shows I have been to, and I am still riding the positive high almost a year later.
AXTY is from São Paulo, Brazil, and began in 2016. This trio is explosive and unique. They are releasing their fourth full-length album titled The Pain Made Me Who I Am on August 21st, 2026, through Napalm Records, and it is a banger of an album. It brings many vocal styles, interesting sound clips, and creative compositions. It has some brutality and some softness, which makes a perfect balance and feel for what life delivers to us. I think my highlight might be the song “break”, but I have found a strong connection and love for every single track. I encourage you all to not only listen, but also see them when they play near you.
Peschiera was kind enough to sit down with us and discuss this extraordinary release.
