It is always wonderful to see bands make it decades into the music world and remain solid. Amorphis is one of those bands. They’re the kind of band fans will always go out to see and appreciate. They are touring with Insomnium and Hinayana right now, which is a perfect lineup, and I am sure will sell out many venues. The tour poster is also stunning and an excellent depiction of both Amophis with the swan and Insomnium with the raven. They are on a North American tour from September until December.
Amorphis began in 1990 in Finland and has driven the metal scene since. Some members have changed throughout the years, and the sound changes from album to album, but the talent stays consistent and beautiful. The last album, Borderland, came out in 2025 and had a breathtaking composition. The prior album, Halo, which came out in 2022, was more musically complex and heavier. What’s remarkable about Amorphis is their ability to keep their sound on every album while playing with different styles, and still make it feel nearly perfect.
Santeri sat down with Metal Nation to discuss the tour and Amorphis.
