ZERO 9:36 Interview: Zero Rapping Is The Hardest On My Vocals

It is not new to mix rap and metal, but rap, metal, clean vocals, harsh vocals, and some electronic music in there, that is rare. This is what Zero 9:36 is known for. Zero has many vocal talents and showcases them through his music, just as notably with the upcoming album release, They Were Always Here, which will be out December 12th, 2025 through OneRPM.

Out of Pennsylvania, Zero began his journey at a very young age, but started releasing music in 2019 with the EP You Will Not Be Saved. In 2020, he released his first full-length album titled Barebones, Vol. 1 , and two others before this upcoming release. He has collaborated with bands like Ice Nine Kills and Hollywood Undead. They Were Always Here features No Love For The Middle Child on the track “Make a Mess”, and Ekoh on the song “Withdrawls”. Every track takes you on a different journey, where some are more rap-based, some are more clean-vocal-based, then “Here to Bleed” and “Until the Day I” he brings in the harsh vocals. What I love about it is the feeling of not knowing what the next song is going to bring you, so you get to ride the musical wave with surprises every turn.

Zero was kind enough to sit down with Metal Nation and discuss the upcoming album as well as mental health and other topics. (If you are viewing from your phone, please scroll to the bottom and click “View Desktop Version” to gain interview and video access).
