TRIVIUM Interview: Paolo and The Exorcist as his Bedtime Movie

Some bands are somewhat well-known outside of the metal community, and I feel like Trivium is one of them. Not everyone might be able to name a song from them outside of the genre, but I can almost guarantee they have heard of them, which is truly amazing. Since metal is still a relatively small genre, being widely known is special. Trivium is releasing their latest EP on October 31st, 2025, Halloween EP! It is titled Struck Dead, which features three tracks, but these three are extraordinary!

Trivium started in 1999, hailing from Orlando, Florida, where they now have their own studio, recently built. Matt Heafy (vocalist, guitar), is the original member, followed by Corey Beaulieu (guitar, unclean backing vocals), and Paolo Greoletto (bass, backing clean vocals), with Alex Bent (drums), who has recently left the band. They have been a powerhouse of a band right from the beginning and show no signs of stopping. They are currently creating music for their next full album release, which should be released in 2026 or potentially 2027.

Struck Dead‘s first track is a song that has already been released, titled “Bury Me With My Screams.”, It is extremely catchy and heavy. The second song is the title track, “Struck Dead (Pain is Easier to Remember), that begins really aggressive and in your face, but transitions to a melodic chorus, only to jump right back into that strong verse.  The guitar solo is glorious. It is an incredible one. The last one is “Six Walls Surround Me”, which begins with a beautiful acoustic guitar melody that soothes the ears and soul, but shifts to an energetic electric soundscape. This one in particular takes you on a journey of many changes, and that is what makes it my favorite of the EP.

Struck Dead might only be three songs, but they are three very strong tracks and are well worth listening to all the way through.

Paolo was kind enough to sit down with Metal Nation and discuss this release. (If you are viewing from your phone, please scroll to the bottom and click “View Desktop Version” to gain interview and video access).
