Bay Area-based metal quartet, Machine Head appear to be in danger of collapse. Today, frontman and founder Robb Flynn took to Facebook to announce the departure of guitarist Phil Demmel and drummer Dave McClain. He stated that new bassist Jared MacEachern is waffling about whether he is in or out of the band, but has ultimately decided to stay. Despite this, Flynn states that the upcoming Machine Head tour will go on.

Machine Head released its latest album, Catharsis in January. It is arguably the band’s most diverse record to date, but also its most controversial. As Flynn states in his Facebook post, he holds a tight rein on the band, and that may have proven the downfall of this incarnation for the band.
