KING PARROT Interview: Youngy and The Australian Culture

These Australian metal bands might not be musically similar, but they definitely share a sense of humor, and I love that about this culture. From Twelve Foot Ninja, to Osaka Punch, to King Parrot, and so many others show that while they take the musical aspect seriously, they also like to have fun while doing so. The most incredible part of this is how much music already has a strong impact on mental health; the added humor is a bonus of an endorphin release that I think we can all agree is much needed now more than ever.

King Parrot began in Melbourne, Australia, in 2010. They fall under the umbrella of many genres, including grindcore, thrash, and punk rock. The band consists of Matthew Young (vocals), Ari White (guitar), Andrew Squires (guitar), Wayne Slattery (bass), and Max Dangerfield (drums). They are full of energy, fun, and most importantly, badass musicians. Make sure you check them out live and follow their social media for news and tour information!

Youngy (Matthew Young), was kind enough to sit down with Metal Nation and discuss King Parrot!
