The band Black Label Society has been around for a very long time and is well known for frontman Zakk Wylde, who has been in the industry for decades and previously played guitar for Ozzy Osbourne. When Dario Lorina joined Black Label, I was hesitant since I had gotten used to Nick Catanese as Zakk’s counterpart. My nerves were quickly laid to rest within minutes of watching Lorina and how insanely talented he is. While he is still playing with BLS, he has begun a new adventure with creating Dark Chapel, which has released an album titled Spirit in the Glass. It is completely different than BLS and is absolutely incredible.
Dark Chapel debuted in 2024 with Lorina on guitar and vocals. It is an amazing mix of grunge with bluesy elements, and Lorina’s vocals remind me of Layne Staley and Chris Cornell. He has a way of captivating your attention with his vocal approach and compositions. I definitely encourage you to check out this album and band.
Dario was kind enough to sit down with Metal Nation and discuss this release as well as other topics. (If you are viewing from your phone, please scroll to the bottom of the page and click “View Desktop Version” to gain interview and video access).
