BLOODYWOOD Interview: Jayant and The Human Experience

Music originates from some of the most unique places and takes on many diverse forms. One of the most unique versions of this is India’s metal band, Bloodywood. Bloodywood came in quickly and amped up the metal world, and has continued to pave the way with folk metal that incorporates cultural Indian instruments. It is such a different approach to this genre that brings a fresh perspective. Not only do they bring in the Indian culture with the instrumentation, but also with lyrics. They approach inspiring and important topics that everyone can relate to, even if you are not a part of this culture. Bloodywood released their second album titled, Nu Delhi on March 21st, 2025.

Bloodywood began in 2016 in, not shocking with the new title, New Delhi. They had originally recreated pop songs satirically, but moved into creating their own music and have not looked back. The amount of success they have had through every version is incredible and well-deserved. Members: Jayant Bhadula (harsh vocalist), Karan Katiyar (guitar, flute, production), Raoul Kerr (rap vocals), have maintained a sound that is appealing globally, while also continuing important topics regarding their heritage and life in general. While they mix English and Indian language throughout their songs, it does not deter fans from singing every part. It has been phenomenal to see these guys have a huge presence in this world, and I always look forward to seeing what they do in the future. I recommend not only checking them out musically, but attending a show if you are able to.

Jayant was kind enough to sit down with Metal Nation and discuss this new release along with other topics. (If you are viewing from your phone, please scroll to the end of the page and click “View Desktop Version” to gain video and interview access).
